Oriana Catton (b. 1995) is a London-based artist of mixed heritage, born and raised in Hong Kong. They received an MA in Jewellery & Metal from the Royal College of Art in 2024 and a BA in Studio Art from Vassar College in 2017. Catton’s practice inhabits a liminal space, blurring the boundaries between performance and craft. Spanning performance, installation, jewellery and wearable objects, film, sculpture, text, and sound, their work explores questions of identity, belonging, and the materiality of the body.
Catton has performed and exhibited work internationally in London, Munich, the Netherlands, New York and across the East Coast of the US. Recent exhibitions include: (Un)spoken, 67 York Street Gallery, London, UK; Morphing, then formless, Purist Gallery, London, UK; Adrenaline Junkie, Norman Rea Gallery, York, UK; International Graduate Show 2024, Galerie Marzee, Nijmegen, The Netherlands; Playground, Swanfall Art, London, UK; RCA Jewellery & Metal Postgraduate Show, London, UK; Tate Lates, Tate Modern, London, UK; Dazzling Flavours, Lost Weekend, Munich Jewellery Week, Munich, Germany. Catton was also a recipient of the Emerging Woman Artist Award Summer 2024, nominated for the New Blood Art Emerging Art Prize 2024, and has guest lectured at the Royal College of Art and Brighton University.
