Referencing the ancient mnemonic technique of the memory palace, Memory Palace Halls transforms the act of mentally walking through a familiar environment into a physical choreography of remembrance. Originating in the artist’s Hong Kong apartment in 2020, the performance traces pathways, mapping the topology of the home through a body that becomes both archive and cartographer. The gestures are then transposed to an outdoor sports ground and, later, to digital space in collaboration with visual designer Yichan Wang. In its 2025 iteration, the performance is re-situated in the domestic intimacy of an apartment gallery show in London, continuing its evolution across space and memory.
